Melted Fat
Melted Fat is rendered in the Distillation Cube, and nowhere else in the demo: no trader you can reach sells it. The cube works on its own once you load it. One Fat, 2 Clay Plates and 20 Fuel make 4 Melted Fat; the Cube distillations perk adds 3 more.
It is the bottleneck of the Barracks: Oiled Planks, and through them the Reinforced Planks for the barricades, all need it. It also goes into Polished Stone (4 Pieces of stone, 1 Melted Fat and 2 Sand make 4), which Expand graveyard II and the Resurrection Table I are built from.

Notes
- The cube needs Anatomy mastery 1 to start. It is an Anatomy workbench, not a Smithing one, so your hammer does not count; the first Anatomy node on the talent tree does.
- Fuel comes from a Firewood shed in the same area. Two Firewood put into the shed become 20 Fuel, so each batch of Melted Fat costs 2 Firewood.
- Seeds work instead of Fat. Three Seed oil, 2 Clay Plates and 20 Fuel make 3 Melted Fat. The Millstone presses 4 seeds into 2 Seed oil, and Herm sells wheat seeds from his first tier. The recipe comes with Alchemy, Distillation even though its icon is not shown on the technology.
- In alchemy Melted Fat is a strong red ingredient (3 red runes).
