Enemies

Everything you fight in Graveyard Keeper 2’s battles is a zombie, and there are six kinds. None of them wears armor, so every point of your weapon’s damage counts. They all walk at the same pace. Killing them gives no tech points, experience or loot: a battle pays only its fixed reward at the end.

The game never shows their names. The names on this page describe how each one looks. The plain one is called the Wild Zombie because the game’s own text uses that name for its body.

Enemies come down one or more fronts on a fixed timeline. They head for your flags and attack whatever of yours stands in their way, and they turn on anything of yours that comes within a few steps. You do not have to kill them all. When the timeline runs out and you still hold your base, you win and the rest fall down.

Put together from the game's own sprites, facing you as they stand still. Most kinds are dressed at random when they appear; each picture shows one of those looks.

Wild Zombie

The common zombie, in every battle but one, and more than half of all the zombies you will meet. It has 15 health and hits for 4, so Master Armor makes you immune to it. The Rusty Sword takes four swings to kill one, and the Heavy Bow needs a single arrow.

Buckethead

A zombie with a bucket on its head and wooden planks strapped to its body. It has 35 health and hits for 6. It first turns up in the Eastern Districts Purge and from then on comes in almost every battle, often in the hundreds.

Door Zombie

A zombie that carries a wooden door as a shield. It only goes after barricades. It ignores you, your squads and your towers. It heads for the barricades on its front and spots them from farther off than other zombies notice anything. It hits them for 10 once a second. With no barricade left, it walks on toward your flags. Spiked Barricades hurt it back.

The door stops every arrow, sword swing and pike thrust that lands on it. Only hits to the zombie’s body do damage, so get around the door. It has 30 health. It comes in six battles, starting with the Market Square Purge.

Stinker

A bloated zombie with 48 health that hits for 7. When it dies it bursts and deals 10 damage to you and anything else on your side standing next to it. The burst ignores armor. It also hits your zombie squads, but not the zombies you are fighting. Finish it with the bow, or step back before the last hit. It first comes in Central Districts Purge: Part II.

Spitter

A drooling zombie that fights from range. It spits from up to 4.5 away, once every 1.5 seconds, for 7 damage. It notices you from much farther off than the melee zombies do. It has 32 health. Spitters come in only four battles: the sixth bout of the Sewerena, both parts of Closing the Eastern Floodgate, and the Final Battle, which sends 38.

Barrel Zombie

A zombie with a barrel for a body and a frying pan on its head, the toughest of the six: 100 health and 10 damage a hit. Even in Master Armor it takes 6 of your health each time, and a Master Sword needs eight swings. It first appears in the fifth bout of the Sewerena. In the story it first comes in Closing the Eastern Floodgate: Part I.

Notes

  • The totals are the most a battle can send, not what you have to kill. Each front has a limit on how many of its zombies can be on the field at once, and the rest wait their turn. When the timeline ends, anything still waiting never comes.
  • Every hit does your weapon’s full damage. Enemies have no armor to subtract and no weak spots. The only hits that do less are the ones that land on a Door Zombie’s door.
  • Unconfirmed: how far the Stinker’s burst reaches, and how much of a Door Zombie the door covers. The game files give the burst’s damage and the door’s blocking, but this page has not measured either shape.
  • Two more zombies, a stump-like one and a full barrel, have stats in the game data but no battle sends them.
