Oiled Plank
An Oiled Plank is a Wooden Plank treated with fat. At the Woodworking Workbench I, 4 Wooden Planks and 1 Melted Fat make 4 Oiled Planks. The recipe comes from Oiled wood (20 red, 20 green), which sits behind the Tool Rack technology.
In the demo it matters for one reason: every Reinforced Plank, and so every barricade in the Barracks, starts as an Oiled Plank. The Melted Fat is the hard part. Only the Distillation Cube makes it, and no trader you can reach sells either item.

Notes
- Oiled Planks need Building mastery 4. The rusty axe and pickaxe give 2 and the first talent node 1 more; a bronze axe or pickaxe on the hotbar adds 2.
- One Melted Fat is enough for two barricades: it makes 4 Oiled Planks, which make 4 Reinforced Planks.
- The morgue’s broken door asks for 3 Oiled Planks too, but it also needs an Iron Detail, which the demo has no way to make or buy. Do not save planks for it.
- Oiled Planks also go into Wooden Kit I (Building 5, and only with a Tool Rack next to the workbench) and Wooden Trinkets (Building 6).
