The Stonemason’s Workbench cuts Stone into Pieces of stone: 2 Stone and 4 Wood wedges make 4 pieces. It comes with The Concept of Stone (15 red), costs 2 Wooden Planks and 2 Bronze Nails, and stands in your yard.

Pieces of stone build the Kiln, the furnace and the Potter’s Wheel, so nothing bronze happens before this bench is working. It is a Building bench, and cutting stone needs Building mastery 3, one more than the rusty axe and pickaxe give: buy the first Building node on the talent tree before you rely on it.

Notes

The later recipes need a Tool Rack built touching the workbench: Polished Stone and the Stone Kit, both at Building 5, and in the full game stone gravestones.
The Mason perk adds a 50% chance of 1 or 2 extra pieces per batch.
The Wooden Planks for it need the Woodworking Workbench I first.
