Sand
Sand is dug with the shovel from the sand pit at Riverside, 4 at a time; the pit refills at once. It is a Building job that needs Building mastery 3, one more than the rusty axe and pickaxe give. No trader in the demo sells Sand.
In the demo Sand goes into three things. The furnace melts 3 Sand into 3 Glass once you have the Glass technology. The Sluice Box washes 3 Sand into 2 or 3 Tin. And Polished Stone takes 2 Sand per batch.

Notes
- Tin is the other half of bronze. Three Copper Nuggets and one Tin make 4 Bronze Ingots in the furnace, twice what 3 Bronze Scrap give. See Bronze Ingot.
- Gold only with the right perk. The Sluice Box can also wash out a Golden nugget, but its chance is 0.4 times the Gold Digger perk, so without that perk it never happens.
