Glass

Glass is melted in Furnace I: 3 Sand and 10 Fuel make 3 Glass, or 4 with the Glassworker perk. The recipe comes with the Glass technology (30 red, 10 green), right after Bronze Melting on the Metallurgy tab, and starting a batch needs Smithing mastery 2. The furnace then works on its own.

The next technology, Glass Blowing (45 red, 10 green), turns Glass into containers in the same furnace. 2 Glass make 2 Alchemy Flasks I, and each of those put on a Flask shelf becomes 5 flasks for the Laboratory, so one Glass is worth 5 alchemy mixes. 1 Glass makes 2 Empty Bottles.

In the demo Glass also goes into two buildings: 2 for the Dresser with mirror in your house, from Suit Up! (15 red), which lets you change clothes; and 3 for a Laboratory I.

Notes

  • Empty Bottles have no use in the demo. They are for juice pressed at the Vine Press, which the demo does not have. Make Alchemy Flasks instead.
  • Lanterns, the Jewelry Table and the third church upgrade also take Glass, but none of them can be built in the demo.
  • The technologies are easy to mix up. The one that makes Glass is called just “Glass”; “Glass Blowing” is the second one, for flasks and bottles.
