Flask shelf
Already in place in Alchemy Lab, so you do not need to build it.
The Flask shelf holds the flasks that alchemy runs on. Every mix at a Laboratory uses up one flask, and the flasks have to be on a shelf in the same room. Flasks in your backpack do not count. You fill the shelf with empty flasks: one Alchemy Flasks I becomes 5 flasks on the shelf, one Alchemy Flasks II 10.
One already stands in the tower laboratory when you arrive there, and the laboratory’s chest holds 3 Alchemy Flasks I, enough for 15 mixes. Another costs 6 Wooden Planks and 8 Bronze Nails at the laboratory’s build desk, and comes with Alchemy, Basic, which Albert gives you for free.

Notes
- More flasks come from the furnace. Furnace I makes 2 Alchemy Flasks I from 2 Glass once you have Glass Blowing. Alchemy Flasks II are 3 of the first kind melted down at a furnace with Bellows. One set gives 10 flasks, where the three sets that went into it would have given 15. The Glassworker perk adds a 50% chance of a second set, which evens it out.
- A shelf holds 100 flasks. Build a second one if you need more on hand.
- Filling it is a Smithing job, at mastery 1, which the Rusty Hammer gives.
- The Alchemy Workbench uses the shelf too. Each repeat of a known mix there costs one flask as well.
- All alchemy happens in the tower laboratory. The Laboratories, the Alchemy Workbench, the Distillation Cube and this shelf can only be built there, so one room holds the whole setup.
- Dismantling it returns 3 Wooden Planks and 4 Bronze Nails.
