Golden nugget
A Golden nugget is a lucky find at the Sluice Box, and only with the right perk. Each wash of 3 Sand gives 2 or 3 Tin, and with the Gold Digger perk also a 40% chance of a Golden nugget. Without the perk you never get one. Gold Digger sits on the Smithing talent tree after Miner.
In the demo it has no recipe to go into: gold ingots are smelted in Furnace II, which the demo cannot build. It is an alchemy ingredient with two red runes and one green, and studying it costs 3 Science and 3 Faith for 50 red, 10 green and 20 blue.
