Fat
Fat comes out of a corpse’s pockets. At the Autopsy Table I you pick a corpse’s pockets one item at a time, and that never fails and needs no mastery. In the demo, 10 of the 15 kinds of corpse the donkey brings carry Fat, one to three pieces each. No trader sells it.
Taking it out does two things. Fat carries a red skull, so a corpse without its Fat makes a better grave. And the Fat itself is the usual ingredient for Melted Fat: one piece, 2 Clay Plates and 20 Fuel in the Distillation Cube make 4 Melted Fat, which is enough for two barricades’ worth of Oiled Planks.

Notes
- You need very little. The barricades take 1 Melted Fat if you pay the mercenaries and 3 if you do not (4 or 12 Oiled Planks), and one piece of Fat makes 4 Melted Fat.
- Picking a pocket gives a blue tech point each time, and counts toward the Pickpocket inspiration.
- Fat has no use in alchemy. Its only use in the demo is Melted Fat.
