Solution for Corpses

A Solution for Corpses adds white skulls to a body: 1, 2 or 3 by grade. White skulls cap a grave’s quality, so this is the way to bury a body higher than its own skulls allow (see Graveyard). You make it at the Formulation Bench from a Melted Fat and a Preservative, with Anatomy mastery 6, once you have Embalming I (50 red, 10 blue).

At the Embalming Table, each bottle goes into one of the body’s pockets and stays there. A body holds at most 6 pocket items, organs not counted. The bottle is used up as soon as you pick it, and the job never fails. It takes 80 seconds on the Embalming Table and half that on the Embalming Table II.

Notes

  • At Anatomy 6 every bottle comes out grade III. The recipe is graded by stars like a dish, and at or above the requirement every swing succeeds. The Alchemist perk adds a chance of a second bottle.
  • Buying grade III is dear: the town Alchemist stocks one a week, only at its third tier, for 50 silver. Grade I (1 silver) is on sale from its first tier.
  • It does nothing for a zombie. Zombies make no use of white skulls.
  • Each bottle counts toward Embalmer. Studying one costs 5 to 15 Science by grade.
