Firewood
Firewood is chopped at the Chopping Spot: one Short Log or 20 Sticks make 10 pieces, and the Axeman perk adds 5. It needs Building mastery 2, which the rusty axe and pickaxe give.
Firewood is how the demo’s ovens get their Fuel. The furnace, the kiln and the Distillation Cube do not take Firewood directly. They burn Fuel, and Fuel only comes from a Firewood shed: every 2 Firewood you put in the shed become 20 Fuel, which any oven in the same area can draw on.

Notes
- The shed comes with Bronze Melting, the same technology as the furnace. The kiln comes earlier, with Brick Making, but it cannot fire a single Brick until you own a shed.
- How much a batch burns: 20 Fuel (2 Firewood) for 6 Bricks, 10 Fuel for 2 Bronze Ingots from scrap, 10 for 3 Glass, 20 for a batch of Melted Fat.
- A shed holds 100 Fuel (Firewood shed I) or 500 (Firewood shed II).
- Sticks are worth chopping. Trees and bushes drop plenty, and 20 of them make as much Firewood as a Short Log.
