Chopping Spot
The Chopping Spot splits Short Logs. One Short Log makes 10 Firewood or 10 Wood wedges, and 20 Sticks make 10 Firewood as well; the Axeman perk adds 5 to each. It comes with Chopping (8 red), costs 2 Short Logs and stands in your yard.
Both products keep the rest of the workshop going. Wood wedges are how you split Stone into Pieces of stone at the Stonemason’s Workbench, 4 wedges for every 2 stones. Firewood becomes Fuel in a Firewood shed, and Fuel is what the kiln, the furnace and the Distillation Cube burn.

Notes
- Wood wedges need Building mastery 3, one more than your rusty axe and pickaxe give. Buy the first Building node on the talent tree before you count on them. Firewood needs only 2.
- Sticks can stand in for Short Logs. 20 Sticks give as much Firewood as one Short Log, and every tree and bush drops a few.
- The technology screen does not list the Stick recipe under Chopping, but buying Chopping unlocks it too.
