Cook counts the dishes you cook: 36 recipes at the Kitchen Oven and 9 at the Kitchen Table. It is a Farming inspiration with a free first level at 5.
Preparation does not count, only the finished dish. Grinding Flour, pressing Seed oil, mixing Dough, mincing meat and cutting fish into fillets all give nothing here, even though they are kitchen work; the Millstone has no counting recipe at all. What counts is Bread, Berry Pie, soups, cutlets, baked things and the rest of the finished food.
Totals are counted from the start, not per level. Buying a level costs Faith from your backpack and gives talent experience;
see Talents and Inspirations.
The cheapest counts are the one-ingredient dishes: 3 Beets into Beet slices at the table, or 5 Apples or 5 Brown mushrooms into a baked dish at the oven. The last level asks for 200.
A failed salad does not count. Vegetable salad is cooked for quality stars, and a batch that ends with no star counts toward nothing.
Oven dishes also count toward Firelord, which counts 62 recipes across every fuel-burning station.
Not to be confused with the Cook perk on the Farming talent tree.
