Elder's meal
Elder’s meal is the richest of the four legendary fish dishes, listed as 30 energy and 30 tech points of each colour. The Kitchen Oven cooks one from an Elder Catfish, a Chicken Egg and 25 Fuel (10 with the Heat Saver perk), 2 with the Cook II perk, at Farming mastery 8.
There is no technology to buy for it: catching your first Elder Catfish gives you the recipe. It is the hardest fish in the game to land, takes only Live Bait, and there is one at a time in the swamp (see Fishing).

Each item is studied once, on the Study Table. Studying does not use the item up. With the Scientist perk, a 30% chance of a Story.
Notes
- It gives three times what it says. Because of the way the game applies an item with several effects, eating one gives 90 tech points of each colour and 120 energy, the energy cut off at your maximum. This is read from the game’s code and has not been checked in play.
- No trader sells it. Studying it costs 20 Science and gives 40 green and 30 blue.
