Vegetable soup
Vegetable soup gives 25 energy a bowl, and one batch makes 5 bowls. The Kitchen Oven cooks it from 2 Beets, 2 Carrots and 25 Fuel, or 7 bowls with the Cook II perk. The recipe comes with the Vegetable dishes technology, a reward for Planted and Delivered, together with the Vegetable salad.
It is the way to get energy out of carrots and beets, which cannot be eaten raw. The same quest raises Herm’s store to its second tier, where he sells both vegetables, so you do not have to grow them first.

Each item is studied once, on the Study Table. Studying does not use the item up. With the Scientist perk, a 30% chance of a Story.
Notes
- It needs Farming mastery 5, like the Croissant; below that the oven will not start the batch. The salad from the same technology only needs 4.
- It uses the most Fuel of the demo’s dishes. The Heat Saver perk cuts it from 25 to 10.
- In the full game the town Tavern sells it; no trader in the demo does.
- Studying a bowl costs 3 Science and gives 10 green and 10 blue.
