Engineering Details
Engineering Details are cast steel parts for the last tier of machines. They are cast, not forged: at the Furnace II with a Casting Table, one Steel Ingot makes 2 (3 with the Gearmaster perk), with the Steel Casting technology (150 red, 20 blue) and Smithing mastery 12.
They go into the third-tier assembly benches and their Sewing machine and Lathe (4 each), the Smithy II (4), Garden Storage III (4), the steel small tools and the Pro Rod (2 each), and the PR Machine’s fourth level (8). Several late story items are built from them with Steel Screws, among them the two prosthetic hands.

- Repairing the Factory’s broken conveyor pins takes 4, with 4 Steel Details and 8 Steel Screws.
- Studying them costs 10 Science and gives 70 red and 25 blue.
