Special Wood
Special Wood is fine timber that no tree drops and no recipe makes. Harold sells it in conversation, at 1 silver a piece in lots of 1, 10, 50 or 100, once you have finished the quest Organic Music. This comes from the game’s dialogue scripts and has not been checked in play.
It is what Wooden Kit II is cut from (3 kits a piece on the assembly line), and it goes into Carved Wood, the Pro Rod and the church Organ (4). A few story items need it as well: the Comfortable Chair and the two prosthetic hands.

- Buy it in bulk. Every lot costs the same per piece, so the lot size only saves trips.
- Studying it costs 30 Science, one of the dearer studies, and gives 50 red and 20 green.
