Clean Paper
Clean Paper is the base of everything written: stories, sermons, notebooks, science kits. All of those are made at the Writing Desk, and until you can build one a sheet of paper has a single use: put it on the Study Table and decompose it for 1 Science. That uses the sheet up.
Making paper needs Writing Supplies (10 red, 5 blue): a Leather Scroll cut at the Writing Desk gives 6 sheets. A Paper Press makes it in bulk later, and the town Alchemist sells it.
Your first sheet is in the chest in the tower laboratory, next to a Science Kit I. The two together are 31 Science, and all you have until you can make more.
Nun of Your Business is what this is usually needed for: the Nun asks for 5 sheets and 2 Ink, which is one Leather Scroll’s worth of paper and two mixes of ink.
