A Science Kit I is Science in a box. Decompose it on the Study Table and it gives 30 Science, which is what studying items for their runes and tech points costs. Decomposing uses the kit up.

In the demo you cannot get another. The recipe (5 Clean Paper, an Ink and an Alchemy Flasks I) is made at the Writing Desk, which the demo cannot build, and the only trader who sells kits is the town Alchemist.
