The Port

The Port is the part of the town that held out: after the first battle you walk onto the bridge, Jack lowers it from the far side, and the town opens up. Most of the middle of the story happens here or starts here, and it is where the town’s trade, orders and new settlers come in.

What is where

Place Who What for
Main Pier Trademaster Trade once his floating lights are lit; ships arrive on Lust day; a market stall plot
Astrologer’s Tower, built onto a giant stone foot Gunter Comet’s Tail, zombies and collar crystals; later the portal frame, where every fragment goes
Dockside Club Linda, Davy the Dagger New settlers for Green Scrolls; the looters’ orders on Lust day; later a ship’s captain and refugees
Town Warehouse The Trademaster at first; Jack until his workshop is back The order board for town orders; a cellar that connects to the underground
Near Gunter’s house — The PR Machine, once Gunter sets it up

Town orders are taken at the order board in the warehouse, only on Pride day. Crates you put on the pallets in the warehouse and its cellar are counted each Pride-day morning (see Orders). The cellar can only be entered from inside the warehouse; one of its two blockages to the underground stays sealed until you have been in the warehouse once (see The Factory).

Also in town

The Fisherman turns up after the first battle, grumbling that fishing is not what it used to be, and challenges you. The rewards grow as the fish get harder:

Bring him You get
5 River fish fillets The Sea fish dishes recipes, a Town Gratitude
5 Sea fish fillets (fish near the pier; his own spot is off limits) The Mysterious fish dishes recipes, 2 Town Gratitude
5 Mysterious fish fillets His golden rod, a Pro Rod, and 3 Town Gratitude

Homobonus, a would-be water seller, shows up by the warehouse once you have repaired the town’s small house. Nobody buys bottled water, and anyway his bottles are broken: bring him 10 Empty Bottles for 2 Town Gratitude and a Story (his uncle’s old books). After the south of the town is cleared he is back, rich from writing a self-help book about the water business, and short of Faith: from then on he buys Faith, 10 at a time for 5 silver.

There at the start

Notes

  • Two places take Faith for things. Homobonus pays 5 silver per 10 Faith; the captain in the Dockside Club gives a Story for 10. Neither answer has a limit in the game files, so both look repeatable (Unconfirmed).
  • Orders are a Pride-day errand. You can only take or swap orders on Pride day, and deliveries are counted on the morning of the next one.
  • Where exactly the Fisherman stands is not in the files. He is placed by a script at a point the extracted scene data does not include.
