Solution for Zombies

A Solution for Zombies adds red skulls to a body: 1, 2 or 3 by grade. A zombie can learn one talent upgrade for each red skull it carries, so this is how you give a zombie more room to grow (see Zombies). You make it at the Formulation Bench from an Alcohol and a Preservative, with Anatomy mastery 6, once you have Reanimation Liquid (30 red, 40 green, 50 blue), which waits on 40 reputation with Gunter, the astrologer.

At the Embalming Table it goes into a pocket and stays there, on a corpse or on a zombie you lay on the table. On a zombie the result must stay within its collar: a Bronze collar allows up to 5 red skulls, a Golden one 10 and a Steel one 99. The bottle is used up when you pick it, and the job takes 80 seconds (40 on the Embalming Table II).

Personal Zombie Zone asks for a zombie with at least 8 red skulls on Albert’s quest table, more than a Bronze collar allows. Few corpses carry that many as they arrive, so a Golden collar and a bottle or two of this solution are one way to get there.

Notes

  • Never use it on a body you mean to bury. Every red skull takes a point off the grave.
  • Embalming a corpse before raising it also counts, but the corpse’s red skulls must then fit the collar you raise it with.
  • At Anatomy 6 every bottle comes out grade III, since the recipe is graded by stars. The town Alchemist sells grade I (2 silver) from its first tier and one grade III a week (60 silver) at its third.
  • Studying one costs 5 to 15 Science by grade.
