Skin

Skin is one of the six organs of a corpse, and one of the first three you can work with. You take it out at the Autopsy Table I once you have the Skin and Bones technology (5 green, 2 blue); before that the slot shows as unknown. Every skin in a first-tier corpse is of the lowest quality, so removing one needs Anatomy mastery 1. Below that it cannot come out cleanly (see Corpses and organs).

A successful removal gives 1 red and 1 blue tech point. Only one of the 15 first-tier corpses has a skin with a skull on it: a skin with one red skull, and taking that one out raises the grave the body goes into.

Notes

  • One skin makes a Leather Scroll at the Writing Desk, which is what the paper chain starts from. You can also put a skin back into a corpse’s empty skin slot, or study it: 5 Science for 10 green and 10 blue.
  • A zombie needs all six organs, so a corpse you mean to raise should keep its skin.
