Skull

The Skull is one of the six organs of a corpse, and one of the first three you can work with. It stays unknown on the Autopsy Table I until you learn Skull and Teeth (5 red, 5 blue). In 13 of the 15 first-tier corpses it is of the lowest quality and needs Anatomy mastery 3 to remove; the other two have quality-2 skulls, which need 5, and the later tiers ask for more again (see Corpses and organs).

Anatomy 3 is a lot at the start of the game, when every branch is at 0. A 3-star Vegetable salad gives exactly that for one in-game day.

Notes

  • Skulls with white skulls are worth keeping in the body. Two kinds of first-tier corpse have a skull with one white skull, two with two; white skulls cap a grave’s quality, so a body keeps a higher ceiling with them in.
  • A skull is worth more at the Formulation Bench than in a grave. A Tooth is pulled from one there, and another recipe turns one into an organ improver. The bench comes with Church Lighting I. You can also study a skull: 5 Science for 10 red and 10 blue.
