Breadcrumb Bait
Breadcrumb Bait is the first bait you can make. At the Kitchen Table one Bread crumbles into 4, with Farming mastery 2; the recipe comes with Fishing II (40 green), together with the Amateur Rod.
It is taken by Pike, Bream, Carp, Catfish, Herring and Silverfin at the home, village, forest and swamp spots, by Anchovy and Mackerel at the port, and now and then by Frogs. Without any bait only four kinds of fish bite at all, so this is what opens up most of the fishing.

Notes
- The description is wrong about two fish. It lists Crucian and Gudgeon, but those only bite without bait: with Breadcrumb Bait on the hook they never bite. It also leaves out most of the fish that do.
- Each cast uses one bait, whether or not the fish is landed, so a stack of 20 is 20 casts.
- The Fish Stand buys it but does not sell it.
- Studying it costs 2 Science and gives 20 green.
