Amateur Rod
The Amateur Rod is the second fishing rod, worth +2 Farming mastery on your toolbar, twice the Basic Rod. You make it at a woodworking workbench from 2 Wooden Planks, 2 Polished Bronze and 4 Flax Thread, with Building mastery 6 and a Tool Rack.
The recipe comes with Fishing II (40 green), which also brings Breadcrumb Bait, the first bait. The town Fish Stand sells one rod at every tier.

Notes
- A better rod helps twice when reeling, because its bonus counts in your Farming mastery and again as the rod’s own strength (see Fishing).
- It never wears out, like the other rods.
