Resting Place
Resting Place counts graveyard quality, but only new highs: each time the graveyard’s quality goes above the best it has ever been, the difference is added. The count therefore equals the highest graveyard quality you have reached. It is an Anatomy inspiration, visible from the start, and its first level (10) costs 1 Faith.
Graveyard quality is the total of what stands in your Grave Areas: the graves, and the benches you put by them. See Graveyard. The story’s Grave Expectations asks for 10, which completes the first level along the way.
What counts
| Do | What | Where | Counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raise | the Graveyard quality to a new high | + points above the old record |
Levels
| # | Name | Total needed | Faith | Talent exp. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Resting Place I | 10 | 1 | 1 |
| 2 | Resting Place II | 20 | 3 | 1 |
| 3 | Resting Place III | 30 | 5 | 1 |
| 4 | Resting Place IV | 60 | 8 | 1 |
| 5 | Resting Place V | 120 | 12 | 1 |
| 6 | Resting Place VI | 200 | 20 | 2 |
Totals are counted from the start, not per level. Buying a level costs Faith from your backpack and gives talent experience; see Talents and Inspirations.
Notes
- In the demo a grave scores 3 at most (a Wooden Cross I and a Wooden Fence I), so each level above the first takes a lot of graves. Exterior benches add 3 each.
- Open pits cost you. A dug grave, and a grave whose body is not yet covered, count −3 until you fill them, so dig a grave just before you bury.
- Tearing things down and rebuilding them does not count twice.
