Vine Trellis
A Vine Trellis is the vineyard’s bed. It is the only place Grapes and Hops grow, and they grow nowhere else. It comes with Vineyard (55 green) and costs 5 Sticks and 3 Peat, placed on the marked trellis area at the Vineyard’s build desk. You then dig it out with a shovel like a garden bed: 4 swings, but each needs Farming mastery 6.
Planting and fertilizer work as on a Garden Bed: 4 seeds, and your own Farming mastery only counts while you plant. While the crop grows, a trellis uses the vineyard’s own skill, 6 at first and 11 after the Vineyard Upgrade. The time per step follows the garden’s upgrades. See Farming.

Notes
- Grapes never grow reliably. Hops need 7 and grapes 12, 14 or 16 by star, and the growing step succeeds for certain only when the vineyard’s skill reaches that number. After the upgrade (11) hops do; grapes never do, so each of their growing steps stays a chance of about 11 in 12 at best.
- Digging it needs Farming 6, three times what a garden bed asks. Put your Farming tools on the toolbar first.
- The Vineyard Upgrade does not make trellises faster. Its speed bonus is never read; the garden upgrades set the pace here too.
- Zombie gardeners need a grape or hop tablet next to the trellis. The garden’s crop tablets do not work here.
