Harold

Harold is the master woodcarver of the Stilt Houses, out in the middle of the western lake, the safest place in the infected district. He fishes driftwood out of the river, wood from the trees of the northern mountains, and seasons it. That is the Special Wood you need for Agatha’s organ and for several of the gifts at the end of the story, and he is the only one who sells it. He is in no hurry about anything.

Reaching the Stilt Houses

When Agatha wants the church organ rebuilt, she sends you to the carvers on the lake, and the bridge to them is in the zombie-held district. Herbert plans the way through: the Battle at the Lake. After the win, the carvers on the far side argue about whether to lower their drawbridge for you, then do, and tell you to see their master. The Flooded Quarter waystone is marked for you.

Organic Music

In Organic Music, Harold first has to work out that he is the master woodcarver. He will gladly sell you wood, once he fixes his wood-catching machine, which he means to do “tomorrow, maybe. Or next month”, because the materials are at the market and there are people there. Bring him 2 Building Kit I and 1 Iron Kit II. He takes them, then admits the machine was only stuck.

From then on he sells Special Wood in the conversation, in batches of 1, 10, 50 or 100, at 1 silver a piece. The quest also starts the organ itself: 4 Special Wood and 6 Steel Details for the church.
