Wooden Sign
A Wooden Sign is the simplest gravestone: it adds 1 to a grave’s quality. You bury your first body with one during the story, the chest in the graveyard holds 3 more, and the recipe is yours for free from then on: 2 Boards and 2 Sticks at the Woodworking Workbench I, with Building mastery 1.
It goes in a grave’s top slot: open the filled grave and pick it from your backpack. How a grave’s quality adds up is explained under Graveyard.

Notes
- The Wooden Cross I is worth 2 in the same slot. With a Wooden Fence I below, that makes 3, the most a grave can score in the demo. A sign taken off a grave drops back on the ground, so nothing is lost by upgrading.
- Making and placing gravestones is grim work: each swing adds 0.2 insanity.
- Studying one costs 3 Science and gives 10 blue.
