Clay Molds

Clay Molds are casting molds for the Factory smithy. A Smithy II makes one from 2 Clay and a Coal, with the Smithy II technology (160 red, 20 blue) and Smithing mastery 5.

Two of them cast an ingot into iron or steel parts on the same line: 4 Iron Kits II from an Iron Ingot, or an Engineering Kit from a Steel Ingot, both with the Bellows extension on the smithy.

Each item is studied once, on the Study Table. Studying does not use the item up. With the Scientist perk, a 30% chance of a Story.

Notes

  • No trader sells them, so the Smithy II has to make its own before it can cast.
  • Studying them costs 10 Science and gives 20 red, 20 green and 10 blue.
