Beehive

A Beehive stands in the vineyard and fills with honey by itself. When it is full, you take it by hand for 3 to 6 Honey, 1 or 2 Beeswax and 2 green tech points, which needs Farming mastery 3; it is then empty and full again 8 minutes later, over and over. It costs 2 Wooden Planks, a Bronze Detail and 6 Bronze Nails at the vineyard’s build desk, and comes with Beekeeping (50 green), which follows Garden Improvement I.

You place it on a hive spot and build it with a hammer, which is Building work at mastery 3. A new hive starts empty.

Notes

  • It is the steady source of Beeswax, which the church’s candles are made from.
  • Each harvest counts toward the Honey Hunter inspiration, like the wild hives around your base, which give less (1 or 2 Honey).
  • Honey also makes mead at the Brewing Stand, and the vineyard’s Porter Station carries it down to the cellar.
  • Taking a full hive down gives back more than it cost, according to the game’s files: 5 planks, a detail and 10 nails. This has not been checked in play.
