Oops Surgeon

Oops Surgeon counts your mistakes at the Autopsy Table: every organ operation that ends below the silver line, leaving a Surgeon’s Error in the body. It is an Anatomy inspiration, visible from the start, with a free first level at 1.

Removing, inserting and replacing organs all count. With low Anatomy mastery these mistakes come easily: below an organ’s threshold each swing has only a partial chance of success, and every failed swing eats into the margin (see Corpses and Organs). So this inspiration tends to fill up early whether you want it to or not, and it is the one inspiration that rewards a botched autopsy.

Notes

  • A Surgeon’s Error is permanent. The organ slot cannot be operated on again, and the error takes a red and a white skull off the body. Counting mistakes is no reason to make them on bodies you care about.
  • Removing the organ still counts toward Butcher, so a mistake counts twice.
