Town Gratitude
Town Gratitude is a thank-you from the townsfolk that you carry and use later: using one gives 5 happiness. Quests hand them out. The opening chapters hold 13 of them across 10 quests, among them Planted and Delivered, Two Peas in a Pod and Herbert’s Fighting Spirit Required (2). Januarius also sells one at a time.
Happiness can never go above your town quality, which stays at 10 until the port opens, so a Town Gratitude used at 8 happiness gives only 2. It keeps until you use it. See Happiness for when it pays to use one.
