Garden Upgrade I

Garden Upgrade I improves the whole garden at once. Every bed grows with a skill of 4 instead of 2, each growth step takes 1:45 instead of 2:00, and the garden gets a larger bed area with room for 20 beds instead of 10. It costs 10 Peat, 18 Bronze Nails and 9 Wooden Planks, and comes with Garden Improvement I (30 green), which follows Fertilizers I. You choose it at the garden’s build desk and press Build; it takes effect at once.

A bed’s skill decides how fast and how well a crop grows once it is planted; your own mastery only counts while you plant. With skill 4, wheat (which needs 2) moves two steps each tick and is ready in about 7 minutes instead of 16. See Farming.

Notes

  • Beds already growing keep their old step time until their next crop; the new skill applies at once.
  • It reveals Garden Improvement II, which stays hidden on the tech tree until you build this.
  • The new bed area comes with two more crop-tablet spots, four in all.
  • It also speeds up the vineyard’s trellises, which use the garden’s step time.
  • It can only be built once, and it cannot be undone.
