Simple Chest

Already in place in Yard, so you do not need to build it.

A Simple Chest holds 20 stacks of anything. It is the first chest you can build, for 4 Wooden Planks and 4 Bronze Nails, with the Tool Rack technology (35 red). Almost every build desk offers it, from the yard, garden and graveyard to the church, morgue, laboratory and writing room. You place it and build it with a hammer, which is Building work at mastery 2, for 1 red tech point.

Notes

  • Three are already in place: the tool chest in your yard, and chests at the mine and the sawmill.
  • Every chest is open to the room it stands in. Zombies at workbenches, suppliers, gardeners and the alchemy table all take from and put into chests in their own area, so a chest decides where things end up.
  • Bigger chests: the Chest holds 30, the Large Chest 40.
  • Taking it down returns half its cost, or everything while it is still a building site.
